Dear Chandel,
Last night I dunno why (Wait I know why)...
I was watching HIMYM and Marshall loses his dad. And he thinks about the last words his dad ever says to him and gets upset with the One Above for the last words being - something about Crocodile Dundee and how its a hilarious programme or something and that he should watch it. He find it unfair that it couldn't be AS meaningful AS it could have been like the one's his mom and brothers got.
His dad was his best friend.
And so is mine (:
So I was lying in bed and thought back to that day when I was still in my baby bloomers at BloombergUTV and you were harrowed as hell and listening to me talking non-stop some rubbish or the other. Just a week old and I get a call from a sobbing mom saying dad's had a heart attack and has been admitted. I told her to stop crying while trying to take stock of the current scenario playing out before me.
To cut a long story short. You were there for a perfect stranger and I am glad we have stayed close buds. It's not everyday you meet someone who is your boss but also a colleague, sister and friend.

Now all of this happened on a Monday. Ashok the great actually has the heart attack Sunday early morning but is too shy and bashful to tell any of us he puked, hand was shaking etc etc. And since I sleep like the dead I hear nothing (This new year by the way I slept at 12 am with crackers bursting outside my door literally ---- blissful my sleep).
Anyway I was just rehashing all of that in my mind, I think I cried at work and all of you were around consoling me. I remember Krishna (RIP) telling me about his dad having a heart attack and having blocks and a stent and angioplasty, graphy the works. At that point i was like - what are they talking about? How can they be so cool about it? They all know so many people who have had a heart attack and it's not like it's an everyday thing.
But that's the point right? A heart attack is synonymous with anyone and everyone, from as young as 22 until you become a grand daddyooo. So i swallowed their well meaning comforting words and tried keeping my head on my shoulders. First granny, then mom and now dad. I was glad I was back.
Anyway, after seeing how shaken I was, you immediately took charge and arranged for a drop for me... Calmed me down. Fed me something and continuously asked for updates. I know you needed all hands on deck and I was feeling like a mouse for getting out at such a shit time.

Thank you (:
Huge Hug*
